Blue River Family Medicine, an affiliate of the Manhattan Surgical Hospital in Manhattan, KS, is a 10,000 SF family practice that includes a large, open lobby with a coffee bar and children’s play area, 12 exam rooms, two centralized nurses’ stations, physical therapy, x-ray, administration offices and a staff lounge. The building’s brick and natural stone exterior is accentuated with expansive storefront windows at the front elevation that allow abundant natural lighting in the lobby area. While based primarily on SPT’s previous design for Andover Family Medicine, with AFM’s consent, the Blue River facility features its own unique attributes including a physical therapy suite, a more prominent front entry design and a darker-toned interior color palette with purple accents.
