Project Description:
The 48,000 SF USD 408 Marion-Florence Sports and Aquatic Center features a 2,000 seat competition gym with two full-court practice basketball courts, two volleyball courts and a running/walking track around the courts. The Center also includes an indoor, six-lane competition pool can be “opened” for summer use via six 14’ x 16’ doors at the exterior wall. A slide, baby pool and spray pad area accommodate summer recreational use by area residents. The pool is equipped with solar heating and ion-water systems to help reduce utility and maintenance costs. Other amenities include six locker rooms, concession stands and a wrestling room that also serves as a FEMA shelter.
