In celebration of the parish’s 100-year anniversary, the renovation of St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral modernizes various areas of the building originally designed by SPT in 1995. At the Sanctuary, new carpeting with a custom pattern at the central aisle provides a complementary foundation for the stunning domed ceilings and iconographic paintings, which are brightened by new LED lighting. The refreshed Assembly Hall includes a new wood, glass-paned double entry door along with new carpet, ceilings with radiused vaults and lighting. New crystal chandeliers enhance reflection of the hand-stenciled gold, silver and pearl faux-painted ceiling while additional recessed lighting is controllable for varied illumination. New custom carpet at the Assembly Hall corridor, along with recessed lighting at the coffered ceilings, provides a brighter, expanded ambiance. A new Reflection Garden at the interior courtyard features low-maintenance landscaping and custom designed benches. Finally, updates at the Education Wing include warmer lighting, new paint and flooring.
